Last week I had two customers stop what they were doing in their day and call me.
I don’t know about you, but when a customer calls me immediately after my crew has been to their home I always brace myself to hear some bad news. I only get about one or two at most a year where a customer is not happy with the price or something that they guys did or said but it is the first thing that pops into my mind when I get a call.
So again last week, a customer calls and tells me that they have something to say about our business. Then they went on to tell me how wonderful my crew was at their home-how knowledgeable, patient, able to explain their system or how clean and respectful they were.
I love to get those calls. But you know what? Someone had to stop what they were doing and purposely take the time to make that call. It is easy to do when you have something to complain about but how many times do we need to slow down and take the time to say thanks or encourage someone.
We, here at Top Hat, are right into the middle of our busy season. Some days I’m not out of the office till 7 or 8 pm. Busy is my middle name. But these wonderful customers reminded me to do what they have done. I need to stop in my day and say thanks. I need to thank the guys who work so diligently for me. I need to spend that extra minute on the phone with the lonely gentlemen who lost his wife this year. I need to smile at the Giant check out person as I blow past with my rotisserie chicken dinner.
Busy today? Stop and thank someone. It is good for the soul.
